I have a similar question: if racing is cancelled, by what time would the call/decision be made?

Now I am not convinced that it is "rain or shine" because it was just posted that races are on as of 1pm...a message like that suggests that, perhaps, indeed, the races might not be held...

Yup. Races are on. Just got off the phone with the Driveway. Track is dry. Rain chances down to 25% for the Driveway Area.

Best,
Willis

Hey there,

FYI, while races are rain or shine in 2009 - if it has rained bad enough to leaving standing water on the track or if there is lightning and thunder - the races will have to be canceled. We'll try to make the call by 3PM each week. Naturally, even if we say they are on at 3PM, if a thunderstorm rolls in come evening time, we'd have to cancel on the spot. However, if we're just talking about some rain, races are on. A good rule of thumb would to always assume we are racing, go into your day, pack your car accordingly, as if you are racing that night and if the weather is questionable, just wait and see. Worst case - you're heading home that evening without racing.

Hope this helps.

Best,
Willis
