What's a Cat 4 Wmns race like?

Hi all,
I'm an endurance road rider looking to get into racing and am thinking of driving up from SA to try out the driveway series. Does anyone have rough numbers on the average field size and speed of the women's cat 4 race and how many laps they do? Just curious...

Hi all. I'll be in Austin for a conference this coming week, so I'm bringing my bike so I can try out my first crit.

So as someone who usually does 3-4 group rides per week (averaging 16.5mph including some fairly agressive 8-10% grade hills), what should I be expecting? I know to get there early to test ride the course (4:30pm, I think?), memorize corners, etc. But in terms of the actual race, what will it be like?

I'd love to see an uneditable post on here for new guys like me... something that answers basic questions about racing.

Thanks in advance. If you see someone Thursday night for the Cat 4/5 race looking absolutely terrified, that's probably me.

I unfortunately left my wallet at the driveway tonight.. I had my dues to pay Stefan in it, along with the usual wallet items.. If anyone found it please give me a call or text my number is 512-925-4910. I'll have to cancel all the cards in it and pull out some more money for Stefan if it doesn't turn up.

On the positive I had a great time racing with you guys and look forward to next year

Registration Questions

I am coming into Austin in two weeks for a conference and would love to do this race. Looks pretty awesome.

Is there online registration, or is it walk up to the table and register/get there early type of thing.

I would hate to come all this way and not get a spot in the race.

When are race results given to USAC

I was looking at my USAC page and i noticed that none of the Driveway Races i have participated in show up, even as races i've competed in. Has anyone else expirienced this? Is it a fluke, or maybe USAC just doesnt update results frequently? I dont know. Anybody know why this is.

Good job Andrew, crew and Flyers on Ladies' Night!
I had a great time, and the Flyers were SO nice, sweet and helpful. I've never raced road before so I really didn't know what to expect. I like the way it was broken into groups, and of course, raffles are always fun. Drat! Now I've been bitten by the road bug!
I had a wonderful time (and so did my Jr Racer).
I can't wait to go back.

now that there is a juniors race @ 5:30, can we restrict them in the 4/5 race. or at least pull them when they get lapped. they do not need to be in the way for the preem's or sprint finish.

Lost Saddle Bag

Hey all-

I can't locate my saddle bag and am thinking that I might have put it on my bumper when I pulled it off for my race this past Thurs. (8/30). Maybe it fell out of my car, I don't know...anybody see it? Black Topeak aerowedge with the general contents- CO2 and inflator, small spoke wrench, tube, patch kit, tire levers, multi-tool.
